Mr/Mrs Franklin

17 May

It is not council’s decision.  I don’t even know if they support the Art Gallery Trust’s decision (Cllr Thomas didn’t look like he did).

The council is responsible for the Anderson Park house and the surrounding parkland. The knee jerk reaction to closing the house rather than just put a sign at the door explaining the infitesimal risk of being inside when a major earthquake strikes was so inward looking and shows how lazy this council is.
The only risk to the public was the chimneys which could have been pulled down and replaced by replica chimneys a long time ago but they have sat on their hands not prepared to make a decision and rather throw money at engineers to take the burden from their shoulders.
It has been a disgrace watching this once stately home and bush been slowly left to fall into a state of disrepair and now we have diggers opening the bush up for the gorse and sycamores to take off. The cost to get it back to where it should have been will be huge
