The Events Committee failed to balance the budget again!  Lucky these people aren’t running our city….oh, hold it, yes they are!!

    One of the most meaningless paragraphs I have ever read. Not a single statement of fact. Words like expected and discrepancies that big in a report to any governance group should be unacceptable and sent back for a bit more detail and fact. No wonder the staff think they are running the council

    What was the whole Iconic Fund? $100K? $36K of it as a percentage is not good. Escalate that to the $51M of rates collected…..we should be glad Kett, Ludlow, and Tim aren’t in charge of the whole purse

    What are the chances clever Dicky will find funds for the iconic a squirrelled away somewhere to make things balance? Or will they moved funds between creation and iconic to balance?
    Looks like they have a meeting next Thursday so will be interesting to read the agenda when it gets uploaded.
    Hopefully they won’t try to carry an overspend through to next year and reduce what’s left and put the next lot in charge of the committee in a pretty poor position, who authorises overspend?

    According to the latest Finance report they’re now over $100K overspent but will find it from prior surpluses. Must be a spend up prior to elections year?
