In Other Words…

it’s a done deal?

Our career politician proof that some voters can be morons gravy train passenger ‘senior city councillor’ Boniface was at the secret meeting and is now saying

conniving little pricksIf it was what the community had been expressing in media etc then ICC would not suffer ‘a bit of a hit from the ratepayers’.  The answer would be no and the ratepayers* will be dancing in the streets.

If Boniface claims there will be ‘a bit of a hit’  then they are aware that they are going against the wishes of the ratepayers*.  How can they claim to be representing us then?

*You are an arrogant idiot Boniface (yes I know you read the blog) to use the term ratepayers.  Gone are the days when only ratepayers voted the likes of you in.  All RESIDENTS have a vote and you are charged with representing them.  I should actually say paid to represent them.

A landlord factors in rates when setting a rental amount.  The law acknowledged that reality decades ago, about time you did…or have you been too busy in the counting house…?

It would appear that certain councillors view themselves as working for the ICC as opposed to being the Peoples Representatives, then again I suppose this is what becomes of an elected official when they end up getting so many directorships they become inert and afraid of speaking up for the people in the fear of losing the lollypop.

Why any elected representative was present or involved in discussions to come to an agreement is beyond me, each and everyone of them there have conflicted themselves if they were part of the “agreement” as they surely could not impartially weigh things up having been “involved”

And here’s an interesting little tidbit

      http://www.stuff.co.nz/southland-times/news/9893314/Finishing-touches-put-to-plan-over-Thai

It would look very much like Mr King and Timmyotoole are pulling a Parker/Marryatt in Invercargill. Why were all councillors not involved? afterall, they all represent the people.

This simply shows we do not have sound governance, we have splinter groups, If i were an elected official I would be looking for answers and pretty damn fast.

There has always been a very definite split in council and its down to the haves and have nots. The selective use of directorships has ensured people toe the line and say yes when asked and that self serving attitude is the greatest challenge facing our community. Sadly there is no way to sort that without those who are head and shoulders with just enough sticking out so they can pull themselves out of the public funds trough for a breath and to say yes starting the process back to integrity and transparency. The spoils are divvied up according to a strict hierarchical system with no concerns for anyone else. You are correct realist that people should be asking for answers but fear of losing a place at the trough is deeply embedded in our council culture
