Arrogant Bastards

18 Nov

One of the big problems with Rugby Park is that it is a rugby ground and not a community asset available to the wider community.   The arrogance of this statement shows that there needs to be complete change if ICC end up with it.

Rugby Southland general manager Brian Hopley said he thought little would change for the union if the council took over the stadium but he was yet to have discussions with the council about its plans.

So is he saying they will continue to ‘manage’ the facility and provide administrative support for near on $100k a year?  Does he expect the ratepayers to fill the Rugby Southland coffers and provide a venue for them while they exclude other groups from using it?
