…Open Your Mouth And Remove All Doubt

14 Oct

So Mayor Tim thinks Karen Arnold would be perfect as the ICC appointee to the Bluff Community Board.  He wants to send a new councillor to Bluff where four new members haven’t even attended Board meetings over the past three years (minimum) and the other has not even been on the Board for a full term?

I am starting to question your decisions Mayor Tim.  Has it been forgotten that a council appointee can be chair and has all the same rights and responsibilities as a member elected from within the ward?

    “New brooms sweep cleanest.”

Isn’t that how the old saying goes?

The people have spoken on that one.

May be but I don’t join a basketball team without ever attending a game. Bluff aside I am saddened about the elections and turnouts etc throughout the country. I now wish I hadn’t run so I could freely speak my views without people thinking it was a bad loser speech. I would think the same whether elected or not or a candidate or not but ‘nuf said. One thing I have learned is that many people aren’t open to the idea of rational thought and discussion without thinking there are ulterior motives.

Great idea. Karen didn’t stand for anything except to ask the hard questions. At least Tim has found her a portfolio like the others will have and she suits this one.

How long has Karen Arnold been a Councillor ?
If this is her first term maybe she should be allowed to get in the ‘routine’ and used to the ‘processes’ before being sent to Bluff.
What we need is to be sent an experienced Councillor who knows the ins and outs of Council goings on, who can answer all the questions the ‘newbies’ might have and most importantly cares about the Future of Bluff …

Ray Fife is set to be the chair from what I hear, got an opinion on his suitability?

Given none of them have attended a (standard)meeting to my knowledge I would support the council appointee being chair if the right decision was made at ICC.
Fife is labeled as a Mitchell lackie (I wouldn’t know though)but I doubt many people here in Bluff understand the true role of a community board chair. The examples set in recent years has tainted that and created false expectations. Mitchell is ranting in the Beacon this week that it is Standing Orders fault. She champions the public voting for change but never grasped that she was a failure on multiple occasions. If Fife is taking ANY advice or lead from her I would say NO WAY!

Got something to say?
