Idle Hands

27 Sep

I’m feeling a bit cold and miserable today so I have idle hands and a racing mind (not a good mix).  I decided to google “invercargill city forests”.  Bugger all information out there but this intrigued me (second entry)

SEEK – ACCOUNTANT Job in Southland

Sep 13, 2013 – Your portfolio includes Invercargill City Holdings Ltd, Invercargill Airport Ltd, Invercargill City Forests Ltd and Invercargill City Property Ltd, and

Sadly more detail is no longer listed but given the ICC finance man is the CEO of Holdco and Holdco is just a shell organisation, you wonder what else is going on?
I didn’t realise ex-ICC finance man Les Pullar and current Invercargill City Forests director is now a community board member.
Best I find something more productive to do.

had some idle time as well and followed the link through to Waikouaiti. Then onto the DCC website. Amazed to see them have links to all their Council owned Business with historical data as well. Flicked back to the ICC but as expected nothing. perhaps having a university means they cant treat people like mushrooms up the road.

Their treatment of LGOIMA requests and a LGOIMA charging policy brings out the ugly green monster in me…..I have a dream…..

And ten minutes ago while watching my chainsaw bite through a log of wood it suddenly dawned on me what has been making me thing there was something strange about what I have been reading.
Within the gene pool of council owned company directors there is not one person who is presently running their own successful business. perhaps someone can prove me wrong but dont think so.
I can only see one who has in the past as well. Sycamore Print.
Surely a community would look to those who have a track record.
In that I dont mean a track record of pushing to get the snout in the trough.
Another interesting point is how many of the present councillors were in power when the CBD planning caused the issues we see today. So not only do they get to wreck it but they also get paid to try and patch it up.

Too true. Boniface lists himself as a Director of Southland Driving School yet it’s not even on companies office and has virtually no internet presence. He promotes himself for election far more than he does as a driving instructor. What is he directing? any employees? I hear the ‘business’ has little business as such. He wouldn’t need to with all the perks.

The point is SUCCESSFUL businesses. many can point to some vague thing but surely the policy should be present successful people. I bet you got a head ache reading the appointment policy.
nice quote in todays paper from Onny Parun. Nobody ever got famous for what they are going to do. He obviously doesnt know Tim

Got something to say?
