What Is Our Gaming Policy?

9 Mar

I can usually tell when something is amiss on the ICC website, I get more visits to files on my site.  The Gambling Policy has had extra views of late so I went to ICC’s site to check.

And here is the ICC Gaming Policy currently on their site:

I don’t know if the policy is the current one but maybe they have made the same assumption I did..’that’s the old one’…I don’t have the time or energy to check, they have 400 odd staff for that.  If it’s the new one, you may need to change the date, eh?

On my Keep and Share (and probably on ICC’s agenda archive page) is the agenda for 31 January 2012 meeting which contains the minutes for 13 December 2011 meeting, which had this gaming policy in it’s agenda..OMG…basically I had to wade through shitloads to find out that (according to the minutes) the ‘recommendations be accepted’ but I didn’t find a report for the policy that had recommendations so I assume that means ‘the policy be adopted’.  I’m buggered if I know, I think it’s been adopted but can’t be bothered clarifying maybe someone paid to could follow up.

So maybe ICC can add to their action sheet: Update Gaming Policy on website.

Nice To Meet You

20 Feb

So many newcomers to the blog of late!  Interesting how many search up flat hill wind farm blog or bluff community board blog or even just kylie blog bluff.  The variations of spelling motupohue are amazing, even if I’m only making more people aware of Bluff’s Maori name and spelling, I’ve achieved something. LOL.

Still many readers of the Bluff Beacon, older ones rather than the newer and regular use of the letters to the editor.  Strange that even though I uploaded and linked to William Watt’s report on Child Friendly Cities that no-one has looked.  Could it be that no-one gives a shit?  I don’t anticipate many submissions on the Policy except from the overtly politically correct government employee types, you know the ones, CYFS and the like.  I do fear that groups like the Sun Smart Council attempt to get councils to implement shade policies and Plunket, Barnado’s and Teen Pregnancy all ask for something.  I’ve said it before that this policy could open up a whole can of worms but I will use it if necessary.  Those footpaths without hand rails, school and kindy without a crossing.  Could be advantageous (not to the ratepayer though).

Another item I picked up as a tabled document at a Council meeting was this ‘ode’ called the Secret Meeting Hall.  I can’t remember the date but it mentions the three bin system being turned down and Kumaguya, I think it was around 2010 I got it.  Don’t know the author and you’ll have to ignore the grammar and spelling and see if you can decipher the writing.

Something William Watt Prepared Earlier

19 Feb

I came across a tabled report from William Watt (while still ‘employed’ by ICC) in my ever increasing pile of paperwork.  I hadn’t scanned it in a) because I didn’t have the time b) because I didn’t care then c) I didn’t know where it was.

It included a print out from a report done by the City of Surrey (Vancouver) and I finally got around to saving an online version rather than scanning in the document (I also thought a link may get broken one day).

In light of the consultation on the Child and ..blah blah blah…Policy, I thought I’d get around to scanning and uploading it so here is

the tabled report which includes appendix 1

and

exactly what they circulated as appendix 2

both from the 8 June 2010 Council meeting
