Always With Something To Say

15 Feb

From Facebook (dare I share anything of Lindsay Abbott’s again? lol).  In his own words:

An OPEN letter to you my loyal family, friends and work colleagues (including foe’s lol)

I am back from my helicopter (joy – yeah right) ride and Intensive care in Dunedin. In the interests of avoiding speculation or the forecast of my impending demise (sorry to disappoint some) here are the facts in non medical terms. Plain English speak- the tubes (artery’s) that carry the red juice to and fro to my pump and other places are
Like the Bluff pipeline – badly corroded, have developed huge bulges, and have become reservoirs for the collection of the evil plaques and other baddies that all hold hands and then after a time release themselves to the poor old pump that blocks the outlet/s – bit like forgetting to take the accumulated autumn leaves out of the spouting. The thoracic specialists say the size of my arteries are HUGE and rare – 1 in 10000 cases and only one of the team has ever seen a similar presentation. Result = inoperable – stents are not an option nor is a by pass. I have always liked to be a bit rare . But rare in this case is a bit of a bugger really…Anyway moving on new meds and constant consultations with a bit of self discipline and self care and no more self abuse (hey I refer to liquor, wrong foods and less ciggys here lol) should see me make a few more ruts in the pathways of life, crack a few heads and have quite a few laughs. So in this instance it’s not poor me its lucky old me. Want to close with sincere and “heartfelt” (pun?) thanks to the dedicated , passionate, skilled and profession nursing staff, doctors specialists professors of Kew, the rescue Helicopter and Dunedin cardiac unit – for bringing me back . Couldn’t happen without them!
To family and friends one word thru this emotional ride = LOVE. To my beyond belief supportive and caring employer’s Bupa Health Care – mere words do not express my thanks for your care and ongoing support . Facebook friends – your messages of support/humour were so appreciated; I am going to ENJOY (and probably be a pain in the ass) of every moment. To foe’s — sorry I’m back for the long haul LOL. Cheers.

Agreed, the attitude is right but judging by the activity on blogs and facebook he is not really ‘resting and relaxing’ (tut, tut, tut)

Got something to say?
